Lucknow: Under the “Smiles and Joy” project of its 102nd Innerwheel year, Innerwheel Club Lucknow Rajdhani organized a memorable visit to the Lucknow Zoo for children from slum areas. The event coincided with the zoo’s 103rd anniversary, making the occasion even more special.
Slum Children Enjoy Zoo Visit
Led by Club President Tanuja Jaiswal, children from the slums of Sadar and Aishbagh enjoyed an exciting train ride within the zoo. They were also treated to biscuits, toffees, popcorn, ice cream, and chow mein, making the visit delightful. The children had an educational and fun-filled experience as they explored the various animals housed in the zoo.
Speaking on the occasion, Club President Tanuja Jaiswal said, “The smiles and happiness on these children’s faces were priceless. Our aim was to give them a day to remember forever. It was a truly wonderful experience.”
Dignitaries Attend the Event
The event saw the participation of newly inducted club member Sarvjeet Kaur, Geeta Singh, Treasurer Veena Gautam, ISO Shashi Singh, and the ever-enthusiastic President Tanuja Jaiswal. Jaiswal’s “never-give-up” attitude played a crucial role in making the event a success. During the visit, club members educated the children about animals and the importance of environmental conservation. The children expressed excitement and curiosity, asking numerous questions about different animals.
